Pertice Moffitt is a Research Associate at Aurora Research Institute, formerly Manager prior to her recent retirement. Her teaching and research interests include nursing philosophy, theory, and science; nursing ethics; women’s health; culture and health; scholarship of teaching; and health promotion. Her research methods are qualitative including fourth generation evaluation, ethnography, community based action research-photovoice and grounded theory. Pertice is currently the academic lead researcher [NT] in a 5 year SSHRC-CURA funded study of Intimate Partner Violence . She is a Co-investigator with a project on Rural and Remote Nursing funded by Health Canada and CIHR. She is Co-investigator in an exercise and diet intervention for type 2 diabetes. She is a member of the Coalition against Family Violence in the NT and an activist within the community of Yellowknife in events that support women. Pertice enjoys quilting and being a member of the Yellowknife Quilt Guild.
