RESEARCH COMMITTEE LEAD WITH CRAC

Title: Research Committee Lead

Reporting To: Leadership Team

Major Objectives

The role of the Research Committee Lead is to manage the volunteer researchers with the goal to assist Clinical Research Association of Canada (CRAC) in developing and conducting non clinical trial/community research activities that support CRAC’s mission, vision and strategic plan. The Research Committee Lead helps to promote education through knowledge translation for clinical research professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities

The focus of the Research Committee Lead is to, within the context of CRACs Mission statement, to support the development of the research framework by fostering learning and clinical research education. The Research Committee Lead also seeks to support strategic planning activities with aspects of their projects that involve research with the goal of supporting CRAC to be the voice of clinical research in Canada.

1. Build and lead a diverse community of researchers across Canada that are aligned with the vision, mission and strategic plan of Clinical Research Association of Canada (CRAC).
2. Foster research partnerships with Government, businesses and the community through collaborative research initiatives
3. Knowledge translation and communication of relevant peer review and scientific journals:
   1. Distinguish fact from fiction through credible sources
   2. Detail and evidence-based research
   3. Synthesizing sources of information
4. Provide clinical research education through synthesizing and summarizing credible peer review papers and scientific research:
   1. Credible research papers focused on various topics such as diverse populations, patient advocacy, and ways to improve clinical research
   2. To communicate both internally and externally
   3. Goal to support CRAC as the leading voice of clinical research in Canada
5. Establish a road map (a CRAC Research Committee capabilities deck) on how organizations can work with CRAC on research including governments, academic organizations, businesses and the community.
6. Create and continually maintain and update this Terms of Reference for the Research Committee that aligns with the objectives of CRAC.
7. Support research studies conducted by CRAC:
   1. The planning (protocol and ICF development, ethics submission, questionnaire development), study conduct. This includes the publishing of scientific papers, white papers or information for social media platforms.
8. Provide support to all other projects when research expertise and assistance is required to support the CRAC strategic objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

Clinical Research Association of Canada (CRAC) is currently seeking applications with 3 or more years experience conducting non clinical trial and community clinical research projects including experience leading research teams.

In addition:

• Strong interpersonal skills and community/stakeholder connections are a definite asset.
• Seeking individuals with diverse and well-rounded skills and experiences in clinical research projects
• Candidates from Canada only will be considered
• Applicants should be prepared to commit an average of 12 hours per month of their volunteer time.
